ABSOLUTELY F***ING AMAZING
As most of you already know, Shaams and I are
getting married Saturday October 5, 2013 and
this is EXCITING.
(WE DID AND IT WAS...
BEAUTIFUL AND TOUCHING
AND FANTASTIC).
It is (and was AND IS) also a
BIG F****ing deal.

I have been walking and skipping and
driving all my friends NUTS for days. LOL.
I AM SOOO HAPPY.
Shaamy is beautiful. HE REALLY IS.
He has a very old soul.
He is extremely bright, funny, interesting,
talented but he is also caring. Kind.
Loving...and who he is as a person,
stirs me to my toes and has for a long time
although I was too dense to realize it...
BUT HE DID!
BUT!

BUT!
What does this mean?
What does (did) Saturday truly mean?
For one thing it is a ceremony for
Shaamy and I plus a few close friends.
There will be
a minister officiating,
and music by
another close friend
who is a wonderful jazz singer,
also an old and dear friend.

But since Shaamy is in Cyprus
and I am here in the United States,
what does this truly mean?
Is it just an exercise in silliness?
Waste of time?
NO! A THOUSAND TIMES NO!

He and I decided we don't want to wait
for the up to another year until
he gets here
because of the
F***ed up Immigration system
we have in the U.S.

WE WANT TO BE MARRIED.
AND SO MARRIED WE SHALL BE.
AND YES. WE WILL BE..MARRIED,
FOR REAL.
Shamal said it best.
"YEH YEH. I love you.
I don't want to wait to be with you.
I love you, so why wouldn't I want to
marry you now?"
AND YES. WE WILL BE..MARRIED,
FOR REAL.

Ok, the ceremony we are going to have
in all likelihood won't generally be recognized by the states in the states, necessarily.
That is not for certain, only my conjecture.
Nor will it give us the rights and protections afforded to people who are physically
together and can go down and plunk down some $$$ and get a license and all that without a serious court challenge more than likely,
and don't think I wouldn't. Again, I am
assuming.

BUT this IS the two of us from
a legal standpoint
entering into a contract and
THAT will make us
JUST AS MARRIED
as anyone else.
See, you take out the religious aspects
of a wedding ceremony which have
NOTHING to do with the legality of it,
take away the license which is merely
one way the government profits off your wedding WITHOUT affecting the legality
of it one way or the other, AND, at heart
you have a what is known as
MARRIAGE CONTRACT
or a COVENANT...and this
pertains to ALL marriages, not just
same sex ones. EVERY MARRIAGE
ANYWHERE is referred to legally as
a MARRIAGE CONTRACT.
The sacred oaths/vows/promises you make
with your partner/groom/bride/whatever
are
THE TERMS OF THE AGREEMENT/CONTRACT/COVENANT.
THAT is the heart of it.
It IS a CONTRACT
in legal terms
and you agree to do or not do certain things, you make promises, you take your vows..
and that is that.
You can have a minister or a Rabbi...
or not, but it's not required. Neither is a
judge or a justice of the peace.
ALL WE WOULD HAVE HAD TO DO TECHNICALLY is get together in person
or online, say our vows
(make our pledges/promises)
and swear that we are entering into
this agreement of our own free will.
THAT IS THAT.
WE DONE
WE MARRIED.
WE LEGAL!
OMG HE MADE AN HONEST WO...wait..MAN (uh no LOL).
WAIT...BEAR
YEH YEH.
HE MADE AN HONEST BEAR out of me
Fuck, DOES THIS MEAN I HAVE TO BEHAVE NOW?
YES?
(shit)
Verbal contracts have also been considered
to be AT LEAST as binding if not more so
than written ones for aeons and there is PLENTY of legal precedent for that.

SO WE ARE saying our vows,
and verbally committing
to each other just as any other
couple getting married..
AND
and verbally committing
to each other just as any other
couple getting married..
AND
push come to shove,
we will have the documentation
to prove it.
we will have the documentation
to prove it.
But our first thought was
we just want to be married.
Maybe it is psychological, maybe not...
but Shamal and I just WANTED
that feeling of being married
'TO THE MAN I LOVE',
meaning each other.
Shaamy as I have written elsewhere
JUMPED at the idea. If we had been
physically together, I have no doubt
he would have knocked me to the ground.
LOL.
I think he maybe felt uneasy about me and
wanted to make SURE he had me locked up
or down or whatever. Nots to worry precious,
but it was sweet and loving. BECAUSE that
was ONE MORE INDICATOR that
he loves me and meant for this to be FOREVER.
SO. married it is. Nothing to do with immigration. WHATSOEVER.
THIS WEDDING CEREMONY AND MARRIAGE COVENANT
WAS PURELY FOR SHAMAL AND I.
AND IT WILL ALWAYS BE SO.
THE OTHER CEREMONY WE WILL HAVE HOPEFULLY NEXT YEAR WILL BE FOR THE GOVERNMENT, BUT IT WILL NOT MAKE US ANY MORE MARRIED THAN WE ARE RIGHT NOW.
SO, married it is.

AND WHY NOT?
HE IS THE PERSON I LOVE,
So this coming Saturday, October 5th, 2013,
he and I will join hands and hearts
with our closest friends in attendance
and we will TIE THE KNOT.
he and I will join hands and hearts

AND THAT WILL SAY...
to each other and to the world...
HE IS THE PERSON I LOVE,
RESPECT, ADMIRE,
MORE THAN OTHER...
AND WHO I WANT TO SPEND
THE REST OF MY LIFE WITH.
THE REST OF MY LIFE WITH.
PERIOD.
END OF DISCUSSION.
FINI.
and I am GIGGLY.
