Pg 18 - SHAMAL & DUSTY / THE WEDDING (10/05/2013)

WE ARE GOING TO DO IT - TIE THE KNOT
( WE DID)

Shamal & Dusty - want to share a most special event with you.

OUR WEDDING

THIS SAT 2pm E

COME CELEBRATE WITH US

The day before the wedding, Dusty wrote the following to his beloved Shamal.

In the eerily misty magic of a moonlit night or as the dew settles on the grass in the morning..
I feel a warning:
LOVE...
FULL SPEED AHEAD
LOOMING LARGE & IN CHARGE,
Grooming the two of us for bigger things.
Wonders
Feats and feets.
As my heart beats in sync with yours,
And we plan together tours to the center of EACH OTHER,
And DEEPLY SO,  and brother can you spare me a LIFE?
You have come and  YOUR LOVE
Has cut into me like a knife,
with certain precision and infinite skill.
I would kill for a life with you
But I won't have to
Cause you have already given me yours
As I have given you mine
And I am fine with that
Fat chance I would or could EVER
Let you get away...
Course you said it first.
YOU burst in and said ONLY DEATH...
and uh...that sounded rather permanent to me!
So, lessee....
LIFE WITH YOU OR NONE AT ALL...
Let me put it this way.
BACK UP THE U-HAUL

I AM COMING WITH YOU, DUDE
And not to be crude
But YOU ARE...MY DUDE NOW...
Forever...
Clever little sneaky Boo dat you is.
You brought the champagne and the fizz
AND NOW,
WE IS
YES WE IS
Wow.
How about that?

DUSTY SAYS:

I wrote the following as a lead-in to the solemn and ages old ritual of the taking of the vows...and here it is:

(MARQ - OUR MINISTER):

A marriage is a ritual to be sure, but far more it is the taking of oaths, the solemn vows, the verbally agreeing to certain legally binding terms of a contract for at heart that is what a marriage is. It IS a contract entered into freely and without reservation by two people who have fallen in love and want the entire world to know they are a bonded unit...FORSAKING ALL OTHERS, and agreeing to be with, love and support each other

NO MATTER WHAT...
for life.

(THAT is what Shamal and I did on October 5th 2013).

Because we love each other and when he asked me to marry him, I said yes. Emphatically yes, AND FOREVER yes. THIS...for anyone who gets married, is about as big an event as you will ever be involved in. It is LIFE-changing and LOVE-affirming. Nothing compares to it. It has been done since time immemorial but is NO LESS at its core significant nor important nor legally binding than it ever has been.

THE WEDDING OF SHAMAL & DUSTY.

(MARQ:)
Shamal and Dusty we are gathered here together to witness
The love and respect that you have for each other.

And to begin, a song of love by Jazz Singer Anthony Compton,
"WHEN I FALL IN LOVE"

THE SERVICE:

(MINISTER - MARQ):
Shamal and Dusty. Are you entering into this marriage freely,
Voluntarily and without any conditions?
(WE ANSWERED YES)

(MARQ):

Happiness in marriage is not something that just happens.
A good marriage must be created.
The little things are the big things.
It is never being too old to hold hands.
It is remembering to say "I love you" at least once a day.

It is never going to sleep angry.
It is at no time taking the other for granted;
The courtship should not end with the honeymoon,
It should continue through all the years.

It is having a mutual sense of values and common objectives.
It is standing together facing the world.
It is forming a circle of love that gathers in the whole family.
It is doing things for each other, not in the attitude
Of duty or sacrifice, but in the spirit of joy.

It is speaking words of appreciation and demonstrating
Gratitude in thoughtful ways.
It is not expecting one person to wear a halo
Or the other to have the wings of an angel.
It is not looking for perfection in each other.
It is cultivating flexibility, patience, understanding

 and a sense of humor.
It is having the capacity to forgive and forget.
It is giving each other an atmosphere in w
hich

 each can grow.

It is finding room for the things of the spirit.
It is a common search for the good and the beautiful.
It is establishing a relationship in which

the independence is equal,

Dependence is mutual and

The obligation is reciprocal.
It is not only marrying the right partner,
It is BEING the right partner.

Marriage also bestows enormous private and social advantages on those who choose to marry.  Civil marriage is at once a deeply personal commitment to another human being and highly public celebration of the ideals of mutuality, companionship, intimacy, fidelity, and family…..Because it fulfills yearnings for security, safe haven, and connection that express our common humanity, civil marriage is an esteemed institution, and the decision whether and whom to marry is among life’s momentous acts of self-definition.

Shamal and Dusty please face each other and repeat the vows you have chosen.

(Dusty):

Shamal, I come here today to join your life for all our remaining years,
I pledge to be true to you, to respect you,
And to grow with you until death separates us but only temporarily.
We are many things to each other,
May only those best qualities continue to shine
And may our bond continue to grow stronger
Time may pass, fortune may smile, and trials may come;
No matter what we may encounter together,
I vow here today that this love with you will be my only love forever more
And make my solemn vow to never be unfaithful to you,
 neither in word or deed.

I will make my home in your heart from this day forward
And I promise to cherish each moment I have with you until I no longer have breath to say I LOVE YOU.

(Shamal):

*****MAY I PLEASE HAVE THE RINGS*****

(SHAMAL): takes Dusty's hand in his and places the ring on
Dustys ring finger and says...

Dusty, what I have to give you is
The promise to take you as my only love from this day forward,
To stand by your side, to listen when you speak,
To comfort you when you cry,
And to join your laughter with my own.
Take this ring, and I ask you to be part of my life forever
As you are the only mate I will ever need.
(DUSTY): Takes Shamal's hand in his and places the ring
on
Shamal's ring finger and says...

(MARQ):
Your gift to each other for your wedding today has been your wedding rings.

The wedding ring is a symbol of the vows taken here today…….
A circle of wholeness perfect in form. The unending circle of a ring is a sign of fidelity, the pledged faithfulness of a couple to each other.

These rings mark the beginning of an unending journey together filled with wonder and surprises,

Laughter and tears, celebration and joy. May these rings glow in the warmth and happiness of you both today.
There may be times filled with happiness, sorrow, tears or laughter,

Whatever it may be, please remember...
LOVE has given you wings;

Your journey begins today;
Shamal and Dusty, if there is anything you remember of this marriage ceremony;

Remember the LOVE that brought you here today,

It is only LOVE which can make your marriage a glorious union, and it is by LOVE that your marriage will endure.
Shamal and Dusty, as you have consented together in lawful wedlock and thereto have pledged your faith to each other,
and have declared the same by joining hands and giving and receiving of rings  and exchanged your first gifts as a married couple...

Therefore by the powers vested in me as an ordained minister (in the State of Colorado),
I now pronounce you are now married and partners in life for the rest of your life!

You may now seal this marriage with a kiss.
Each signifies the seal with the insertion of the symbol

AT THIS POINT THE CEREMONY ENDS AS MUSIC BEGINS IN THE BACKGROUND

"THIS TIME THE DREAM'S ON ME" ... Anthony Compton

and thus Shamal (Spidey Cobwebsun) and Dusty
entered the ceremony as two individuals in love and
emerged as two individuals CONJOINED as one
BONDED IN HOLY  MATRIMONY,
BUT MOST OF ALL
EVEN MORE IN LOVE.

THAT IS A FEELING LIKE NO OTHER

  1. I cried, Shaamy cried, and he even stopped the ceremony right before the taking the vows JUST TO TELL ME ONCE MORE how much he loved me and how he meant this to be forever. As people said afterward, the passion and intensity in his voice was so powerful it felt almost like desperation. Yes, I love him too even more.

  2. We have he and I had our ups and downs smiles and frowns, but that is the way of life. He came with his heart and surgically carved out with his heart-knife, ME, from my former background. Round here, that means he took ALL OF ME FOREVER, and put me inside HIS heart..where i will always remain...UNTIL I DIE. I cry no more except in joy, for my boy has made me whole..
